MDC-Telco – Globema’s low cost application for data capture and network inspections/verification directly in the field – will be part of the TRISTAR system in Gdansk, Gdynia and Sopot cities. TRISTAR  is an integrated system of traffic control based on combination of innovative solutions and technologies, aimed to significantly improve the traffic in the so called “Tri-City” urban complex.

In the TRISTAR project, Globema’s application will be used to support the optical fiber network management. A new feature was added to the tool for this project, enabling storing the captured data in a database. This will allow for incremental data capture and maintenance directly in the MDC-Telco application. The implementation of the MDC-Telco in the TRISTAR project was carried out in cooperation with Instal-Luk and Qumak companies.

About TRISTAR

The TRISTAR system was designed to facilitate the traffic flow and enable higher traffic loads in Gdansk, Gdynia and Sopot cities (jointly called the “Tri-City”). The heart of the system is the central server, connected to the control centers, which supervises and regulates the traffic lights and public transportation.

TRISTAR is dedicated to generate a progressive cascade of green lights (“green wave”). The system will also control the parking lots (dedicated information screens will direct drivers where they will find free space) and inform the passengers of delayed buses or trams.

About Mobile Data Collector-Telco (MDC-Telco)

MDC-Telco is a stand-alone tool created to improve the process of stocktaking network and infrastructure data in Telecoms (also small/local Telecom operators). It enables field force to optimize the stocktaking efforts in the field while gathering or verifying information.

MDC-Telco is often used to capture data to Smallworld PNI. Since the application has an open architecture, it can support multiple GIS platforms, such as Smallworld, ESRI, Google Maps, Intergraph or others.

MDC-Telco application allows the user to work with mobile devices (Tablet PC) with a Windows operating system. As a result data capture and network inspections/verification can be carried out directly in the field. The application also allows for the use of GPS to position inserted objects and to track the person handling the inventory.
